So, this week's challenge at the PCC is a good one! You are to make a card, layout, or other paper project with a Valentine's theme and using a cupcake, cookie, cake, or candy. It can be a hand-stamped, digital-stamped or Cricut cut image. Please check out Mary's blog for inspiration, then make your own project and upload it to her blog for your chance to win a prize. Now, on to my submission for the week....
I just recently purchased several Cricut cartridges from Custom Crops. They had a really good sale going on and I decided to splurge. Hey, I have a birthday coming up in February, so I thought "what the heck?" One of my new cartridges is the Rock Princess cartridge. It has a cut of a cupcake pirate on it. I thought that the little cupcake with the boots on was so cute and different, so I decided that would go on my card! I didn't really care for the pirate face, though, so I left that layer off.
Anyway, I cut the little guys at 1 1/2 inches. I ran the frosting hats through my Xyron and glittered them with red glitter that I got from the Michael's dollar bin. I hand-drew the little faces. I punched all of the little hearts with my Martha "heart confetti" punch. I used two of my Spellbinders dies for the background that I pop-dotted my little cupcakes to. I used my Martha Stewart cupcake border punch for the top and bottom of my card. The card that I made is a pop-up card that I found a tutorial for on Splitcoast Stampers recently. It was really very easy to make. The sentiments are from Inkadinkadoo, I believe. All of the bling was random stuff I had in my embellishments drawer. Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Don't forget to head on over to Paper Cutz Challenge and join the challenge this week!
