Paper Cutz Challenge #61

So, patterned paper and I do not exactly get along. I find that I don't really use it all that much. I am always trying to be so match-matchy, so when I found out that this challenge involved using 3 different patterned papers, I was a little worried. I decided that I wanted to do a fall type of card. The weather's starting to cool off in my neck of the woods, so a fall card felt appropriate. Next, I decided to do a pumpkin on my card and that's when it hit me! I would do the oval punch art pumpkin using the different patterned papers! Problem solved. Then, a new problem arose. I discovered that I only owned 1 oval punch, and it is tiny! That meant a trip to the craft store.....oh, darn! LOL. I went to JoAnn's and they only had one oval punch and it was scalloped. At first I thought I was back to the drawing board, but I thought "what the heck?" let's give it a shot! I also found a super-cute stamp set that I will use to make Halloween cards for my mom and two sisters, but that's for another post. I started stressing on my way home because my day was half over and I needed to get my project turned in to Mary at http://www.papercutzchallenge.blogspot.com/ ! I decided that I would make a 3 x 3 notecard set. That would be fairly easy to get done and would be cute, so that's what I ended up making. Now that I look at it, though, I realize that these would make perfect gift tags for homemade pumpkin bread for my friends, so that's what I will be doing with these in the weeks to come!

Recipe:
Recollections cardstock
Debbie Mumm "Harvest & Holiday" patterned paper stack
Orange and yellow plaid ribbon from Michael's
Fiskars scalloped oval punch
MS leaf corner punch
Cuttlebug "distressed stripes" embossing folder
Sizzix Texture Boutique embossing machine
black ink
green ink
I cut the card bases at 3 x 6 and folded in half. I cut the card fronts at 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 and embossed them with the "distressed stripes" folder, then inked them with black. I cut out the ovals from the designer paper and glued them together with my Zig pen. I punched out the leaves and inked the edges and hand cut the stems of the pumpkins and inked those edges, as well. I will use a hole punch to put a hole in the corners of these to thread some twine or ribbon through when I get ready to use them as gift tags.

That's it! Be sure to come and play along with us at http://www.papercutzchallenge.blogspot.com/
