Paper Cutz Challenge #60

So, this has been a kind of blah week for me. Ever have one of those? There have been a lot of changes going on in my life lately and I've just been a little down about some of them. Nothing life threatening or involving my family's health or anything like that. We are very blessed in that respect, so I can't complain too much. I've just been very emotional....yuck!! Anyway, I guess that's what inspired this card that I made for the Paper Cutz Challenge #60. The challenge is to create a project with any critter. It can be stamped or die cut or punch art.....let your imagination run wild! I usually try to do a more fun, whimsical kind of animal card, but I think this fit more with my mood! LOL

For this card, I bought Bazzil Bling in two different shades of blue. I'd been wanting to make a peacock card with this stamp forever, and knew that this paper would be perfect! I cut the lighter piece at 5 1/2 x 11 and scored it in half for the card. I cut the darker piece at a 5 1/4'' square. I took a strip of lighter blue and cut it with a Fiskars border punch. Then, I cut out a large scalloped circle with my Nestabilites dies. The corners are cut from Sizzix Sizzlits "Architechtual"-something....can't remember. This beautiful peacock stamp is one I bought from Impression Obsession a couple of years ago, but had never used until now! I colored it with my Prismacolor pencils, then rubbed my embossing pad over it. I sprinkled it with some holographic embossing powder and set it with my heat tool. In person, it looks so cool!! This ribbon is some of that really cheap stuff you get at Michael's. I thought it also looked holographic and would look nice on the card. The pearls are from Hobby Lobby. On the inside, I cut a 5 1/4'' square of white and punched the bottom with the same Fiskars border punch that I used on the card front. I stamped the inside with this sentiment that was in a set of kid quotes that I got from Inkadinkadoo. I LOVE this phrase! So cute. Well, I'm off to get back on my computer. My spacebar, b, and n keys are not working, so I had to hop on one of the kids' computers to finish my post. Now, I have to log back in to mine to upload my photos.....grrr!!!!! Oh well, at least we are lucky enough to have access to another computer. I just hope hubby can fix mine! Have a great day everyone and thanks for visiting!

  2. Beautiful card Lisa!! Sorry to hear you've been feeling down. I know what you mean, I get that way sometimes. My hubby and kids ask "what's wrong?" and I reply "I don't know" It's a very frustrating feeling. Hope you feel better soon.
