Paper Cutz Challenge #59

Hello! It's been a while since my last post, but life has been CRAZY around here! Big things are happening in my church, and I'm responsible for a lot of planning that's been going on and my kids' schedules are getting very busy, so I'm always running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Sunday after church I got into a car accident! I was going home with my two boys to start cooking for a potluck that night when some guy in the on-coming lane decides to take a left....right into the path of my car!!! So, of course, I hit him. That was one of the scariest moments of my life. I was so terrified that one of my boys was going to be hurt, but praise God, we were fine! My airbags didn't even deploy, although the guy tried to say that I was "flying" down the road. He just wasn't paying attention and wanted to try to blame me. He was ticketed and found to be at fault, so everything worked out fine, my car's in the shop, and I've got a rental in the meantime. Enough about me, on to the next PCC Challenge!

Our assignment this week was to make a Halloween project with NO ORANGE OR BLACK. That proved to be a little harder for me than I thought it would. I had all of these wonderful ribbons and papers that I could not use! But, I do think that my project came out precious. I love this basket pattern. I found the tutorial for this on StampTV, I think. It's so easy! You just cut an 8 1/2 inch square and score it at 2 inches on all sides then cut to the score lines on the top and bottom folds only (not the left and right lines), then fold it together, leaving the sides slightly slanted and secure them with adhesive. Next attatch the handle, then cover the brad that you used to secure the handle to each side of the basket with whatever you like. I used my Nesties and this cute little punch art Frankenstein. I've seen people make this a lot with their Stampin' Up "Top Note" dies. I don't have that die, but I do have this little Marvy punch, so I thought it'd be cute! I punched one from green and one from purple, then used a regular hole punch for the nose and eyes. I hand drew his mouth and pupils. The "spooktackular" stamp is a dollar stamp from Michael's, the green ribbon is some grossgrain that I think I got at Hobby Lobby and the bling came from Hobby Lobby as well. The candy are chocolate eyeballs and chocolate money, plus the little ghost is a Tootsie Pop that I wrapped in tissue, tied with a ribbon and drew on a face. I had so much fun making this little basket! I have a lot more Halloween projects in mind now! Thanks, Mary! Be sure to hop on over to the PaperCutz Challenge and show us your cool project.
