Peachy Keen Challenge

This Peachy Keen Challenge proved to be a tiny bit harder for me than some of the others I tried. I couldn't figure out how to get the sketch done and the colors just right. I'm still not totally sure that I like the way it came out. There are a couple of little details I would like to go back and change. That's why cards take me so long to make. I get bogged down in all the little tiny details until I drive myself crazy! I did really like this sketch and these colors, though. I had a lot of fun making this card because my 14 year old daughter sat in my craftroom and talked to me while I was making it. I feel very blessed to have a daughter that actually enjoys talking to me and hanging out with me so much. Of course, there are some days that I wish for peace and quiet in my room, but then I think there will come a time very soon when it will be totally quiet because she won't be hanging around here. She'll be hanging out with friends, dating, off to college, and out of the house. I think about that and her constant babbling doesn't seem so bad. OK, now that I've totally depressed myself, let's get down to the card.....
Card recipe:
A2 sized
DCWV mat pack for the polka dot paper and the one the butterfly is on
Recollections cardstock for the rest
Cuttlebug die cut for the swirly thingy....not sure what to call this
Martha Stewart border punch (pinking scallop or something like that)
Spellbinders scalloped circle
circle punch
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots
Stampendous Gem Stone Insects for the butterfly
clear embossing stamp pad
Pearlized blue embossing powder
Heat embossing tool
White gel pen
IRock and gems
Fairly simple card. I just cut pieces to match the card sketch. I really had a lot of fun doing the heat embossing on this butterfly! It is such a pretty stamp. I absolutely love this set! I'm pretty happy with how it came out. It is a very pretty color combination that I am sure would brighten someones day!

  1. Love it!!!Your butterfly is AWESOMELY GORGEOUS!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who couldn't get the colors to look right. lol

  2. Thanks! I embossed the butterfly. I'm trying to get neater at that and I think it came out pretty well....I started looking really closely at it and started finding stuff wrong with it! I am so bad about nitpicking....LOL

  3. This is beautiful, Lisa! I'm so happy you could join us for the Peachy Keen Challenge, and I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful work in the future.

  4. Wow that butterfly is amazing! You did a beautiful job! You are very blessed to have a daughter that still likes to be around you. And you are right. They grow up much too fast! Thanks for joining the challenge at PKS! Even though it was a challenge for you, it turned out to be a real beauty! Good luck!
